Terms of Use

These terms are the agreement between you and Ahlan Rishta. They also set out what we expect of every member. Ahlan Rishta exists to help Muslim families reach a marriage with trust, dignity, and privacy — behaviour that undermines that is not permitted here, and we enforce this.

1. Who may use Ahlan Rishta

• You must be 18 or older.
• You must be genuinely seeking marriage, or genuinely helping a family member or client who is — as a parent, guardian, wali, relative, or verified facilitator.
• Ahlan Rishta is not a dating service, not a social network, and not a place to make friends or business contacts.
• If you create a profile for someone else, you confirm that they are an adult, that they know and agree, and that the information you give about them is true.

2. Honesty is a condition of membership

You agree that everything you tell us and other families — your age, marital status, education, profession, health matters that another family has a right to know, and your identity — is true. Misrepresenting these things wastes families’ time, wounds people, and in some cases is fraud. It is grounds for immediate removal.

3. How members must behave

You must not

• Create a fake profile, or impersonate anyone.
• Ask any member for money, gifts, loans, visa help, or documents — or send any. No genuine rishta on this platform requires this. We treat such requests as grounds for removal and may report them.
• Pressure anyone to move the conversation off the platform, or to bypass their family, wali, or the introduction stages.
• Share, copy, screenshot, forward, or circulate another member’s photographs, biodata, or contact details — in a WhatsApp group or anywhere else — without their explicit permission. This is the specific harm Ahlan Rishta was built to end.
• Use another member’s information for anything other than considering a marriage with them.
• Harass, insult, threaten, or contact anyone who has declined an introduction, blocked you, or asked you to stop.
• Behave indecently, or send anything obscene.
• Use the platform for marketing, recruitment, data collection, or automated scraping.

You must

• Keep your account and phone secure, and not let anyone else sign in as you.
• Respect a decline, a block, and a silence as answers.
• Report a profile that is fake, misleading, or behaving badly. Reports are reviewed by a person, and we never tell the other member who reported them.

4. Verification and trust levels

We verify what we reasonably can — a phone number, a selfie, a family contact, and documents you submit for education, employment, identity, or a community reference — and we show the result as a trust level. This is a serious effort, and it is far more than most platforms do. But it is not a guarantee about a person’s character, intentions, or suitability. A trust level tells you what we checked, not who someone is. Families should still meet, ask, consult, and satisfy themselves. Do your own diligence, involve your family, and make istikhara.

5. What Ahlan Rishta is not responsible for

• We introduce; we do not vouch. We are not a party to any rishta, engagement, nikah, or marriage, and we do not guarantee that you will find a match.
• We are not responsible for what other members say or do, on or off the platform, though we will act on reports.
• We do not give religious, legal, medical, immigration, or financial advice. Our guidance content is general and is not a substitute for a qualified scholar, counsellor, or lawyer.
• Mediators are independent people whom we verify and list. When you engage one, your arrangement is with them.

6. Your content

What you write and upload remains yours. You give us permission to store it and show it to the people your privacy settings allow — and no further. You are responsible for having the right to share anything you upload, including any information about your family.

7. Plans and payments

• A free account can create a verified profile, receive interests, and see a limited number of curated matches.
• Paid plans add capacity, family tools, insight into why a match was suggested, and human mediator support.
• Paying never buys visibility, ranking, or preferential treatment in anyone’s matches. Trust cannot be bought here.
• Plans renew for the period you chose unless cancelled. Cancelling stops the next renewal.

8. Suspension and removal

We may suspend or remove an account that breaks these terms, that we reasonably believe is fraudulent or unsafe, or where doing so protects members. Where it is fair and safe to do so, we will tell you why. Serious matters — fraud, financial requests, threats — may be reported to the authorities.

9. Closing your account

You may close your account at any time. What happens to your data is set out in the Privacy Policy.

10. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect. Continuing to use Ahlan Rishta after that means you accept the updated terms.

11. Law and disputes

[To be completed before launch: governing law, the courts or arbitral forum with jurisdiction, and any required consumer dispute channel. We expect this to be the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, subject to legal advice.]
